Life Coaching: The Gentle Proactive Guide
I describe myself as a Therapeutic Life Coach.
Through therapeutic coaching, I can actively guide you towards formulating and reaching personal goals. As I help you to feel safe, secure within yourself, you will begin to feel the freedom and power to take small, powerful steps forward. I stay attuned and emotionally present for you, coregulating your emotional experience. With me by your side, any mountains you need to climb will seem much smaller.
I believe that in order to make progress we have just as much need to be as soft with ourselves as we do to be strong.
Life coaching helps you to clarify your goals, recognising any hurdles that may be impeding your potential progress. It guides you with developing sustainable solutions and strategies to overcome challenges.
I guide clients to:
-
Identify and achieve goals in their personal and professional lives
-
Focus on what they really want and then develop a SMART plan (Specific, Measurable, Realistic, Assignable, Time appropriate) to identify their strengths and weaknesses
-
Eliminate what is not working in their life
-
Recognise and accept weaknesses
-
Organise & prioritise to achieve targets
-
Communicate effectively
-
Handle challenges and necessary changes to plans
-
Set goals so client feels in control & empowered to make the changes and feel fulfilled
-
Be assertive, confident and happy
I take an active role in helping a client. I use various techniques that are carefully and sensitively adapted to each and every client's unique needs.
One of the main aims of life coaching is to help the client develop valuable tools towards being able to embrace and accept themselves, and equally change and organise their lives as appropriate, adapting as needed.
You begin to know and accept yourself. This in turn allows you to manage external influences of change, to stay as focused as you, and external forces, allow. It enabels you to thrive.
My therapeutic coaching style incorporates attachment science, incorporating research-based processes, based on neurological and psychotherapeutic studies, which can help you to gain awareness of your emotions and understand them. I can guide you through coping strategies to face and manage your emotions.
One of the most useful techniques employed by a coach is to carefully listen to the client and then repeat and reflect back on the client's words.
This ultimately allows the client to:
-
Monitor their own reactions to situations and events
-
Positively self-analyse and make proactive change
-
Clarify their feelings
-
Judge the suitable actions and changes needed
-
Make appropriate decisions based on their life setting — their culture, country, work and home life
-
Feel empowerment and self-belief
-
See a path to follow and the end goal in sights
